About these terms
These terms cover your use of the Help with Money website. The website is run by Help with Money, a trading style of Your Debt Plan UK Limited, company number 905649, registered office Unit 10 Wilson Business Park, 1 Queen Elizabeth Avenue, Hillington Park, Glasgow, G52 4NQ. When we say “we” or “us”, we mean Your Debt Plan UK Limited.
By using the website, you accept these terms. If you don’t agree with them, please don’t use it. Read them alongside our privacy notice and cookie notice.
Who we are and what we do
Help with Money is a lead generation service. We are not authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority and we do not give debt advice.
We help you find out about debt solutions. If you ask, we pass your details to a partner debt firm, which contacts you. Any advice comes from that firm, not from us.
What this website says is general information, not advice about your own situation. Whether a debt solution suits you depends on your circumstances, and on others, such as your creditors, agreeing to it.
Free, impartial debt advice is available from MoneyHelper, StepChange and National Debtline, whether or not you speak to us.
Who can use our service
To ask us for help through the website, you need to:
- be 18 or over
- live in the UK (the rules on debt differ in Scotland and Northern Ireland, and some options work differently there)
- owe two or more debts
Each debt solution has its own rules about who can use it. The partner debt firm explains them when it contacts you.
Your part
When you ask us for help, you agree to:
- give us, and the partner debt firm, true, complete and up-to-date information about your money, including all your debts, income and spending
- tell the partner debt firm if your circumstances change in a way that could affect a debt solution you have chosen
- never give false or misleading information. In some formal debt solutions, that can be a criminal offence
Our part
We will:
- keep the information on this website clear and as accurate as we can
- treat what you tell us as set out in our privacy notice
- pass your details only to a partner debt firm, and only because you asked us to
- follow the laws that apply to us
Costs
We’re paid by our partner debt firms. If we introduce you to one, it may pay us a fee for the introduction. The firm that provides a debt solution sets any fees for it, and explains them to you before you agree to anything.
You never have to go ahead with anything.
The budget planner
The budget planner gives an illustration based on the figures you enter. It isn’t advice and doesn’t assess your circumstances. Your figures stay on your device. Check them against your own records before you rely on them.
Our responsibility to you
We take reasonable care to keep the information on this site accurate and up to date, but we can’t promise any particular outcome. Whether an option works depends on things like your creditors agreeing to it and you keeping to its terms.
As far as the law allows, Your Debt Plan UK Limited is not liable for indirect or consequential loss from your use of the website. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. Your legal rights as a consumer are not affected.
Our content, and other websites
The words, design, illustrations, photos and logos on this website belong to Your Debt Plan UK Limited or the people who supplied them, and are protected by copyright. You can print or save pages for your own personal use. Please don’t copy, share or change them for anything else without our written permission.
We link to other websites, such as MoneyHelper, because they may help you. We don’t control them and aren’t responsible for what they say. A link doesn’t mean we endorse a site.
Stopping, and changes to these terms
You can stop using the website, or stop talking to us, at any time.
We may change these terms by updating this page. The date at the top shows when they last changed, so please check back from time to time.
The law, and contacting us
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts can deal with any dispute about them. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in the courts where you live.
